World: East Africa plus Rwanda ce Zaire, n Zambia and n Malawi. Kenya: Common on open grassland up to 1800m, mostly absent from the far N and E of the country. A short-tailed almost finch-like lark which is found on short grass plains. They normally congregate in large flocks except during the breeding season when they are found in pairs. These pairs may, however, nest in loose colonies. |
