Anas erythrorhyncha Other Names
World: Madagascar; East and southern Africa. It occurs in most areas S of 10°S Kenya: Common species found associated with all types of water. Largely absent from Lake Turkana and the coast (except the Tana and Sabaki estuaries) A common resident that is gregarious outside the breeding season. Red-billed Teal feed in shallow water and are often found near temporary pools and flooded land. We have found that the best (easiest) place to see this species is in and around the swamps of Amboseli. |
