World: There are 2 disjunct populations in Africa. In the ne it is found in Sudan, Ethiopia, Somalia, Kenya and n Tanzania. The 2nd population is south of 15°S Kenya: Found on grassland up to 2000m. Most numerous in the Rift Valley and absent from agricultural areas and those with thick bush, woodland or forest Weighing in at 18kg and reaching up to 50" (128 cm) in length this truly is a big bustard!
