World: Africa from Senegal, Guinea and Liberia East to Kenya and South to Angola, Zaire and Tanzania.

Kenya: Western and central Kenya where it is on the eastern end of its range.

Kenya's most common Greenbul, in forests from 1500-300m; most common in the West of the country but can be found just about anywhere there's forest. The whiskers make the adult very easy to identify although the juvenile resembles the Little Greenbul.
