Broad-billed Roller |
|
Eurystomus glaucurus Other Names
World: Widely distributed in Africa S of 15°N except in the central and western forested regions. Kenya: Virtually absent from the north and east of the country. Elsewhere locally common in along forest edges and in isolated tall trees close to water. Although locally common this is a difficult bird to spot and we've only been lucky enough to get a good look once. It prefers woodland or open country with the tall trees which are it's preferred perches. Fortunately the top of the tall tree this one chose to perch in was close to and not too high above the bar of the lodge we were staying in at Nakuru. |
