Turdoides hypoleucus Other Names
World: Africa - endemic to Central Kenya and E and NE Tanzania. Kenya: Locally common in suburban gardens, bush and forest edge in Central and CS Kenya. Found in groups of about 10-12 birds near thick cover. It is restless and noisy like other members of the genus Turdoides. It is a ground forager which always stays close to cover (although in Nairobi some birds become quite confiding and tame). It forages from dawn until around midday and then again just before dusk it shows a preference for resting in Lantana thickets during the afternoon. |
